Omnadren 250 is an injectable steroid which contains the hormone testosterone in four different esters equaling a total of 250 mg. Each ML of Omnadren 250 contains the following:

30mg testosterone propionate
60mg testosterone phenylpropionate
60mg testosterone isocaproate
100mg testosterone caproate

Testosterone is the most common anabolic hormone that there is and is also considered the most basic. Due to this, bodybuilders often consider it the base steroid to most all cycles. Testosterone is both anabolic and androgenic in nature. Users of this steroid will notice a dramatic gain in muscle size and strength, as well as an overall sense of well being and increases libido and sex drive.

Testosterone aromatizes very easily and therefore estrogen buildup and side effects can become an issue for users sensitive to these problems or those choosing to use a high dose of this compound. Therefore, when using Testosterone, bodybuilders often choose in incorporate an anti-estrogen such as Anastrozole, Proviron, Tamoxifen to help keep estrogen related side effects to a minimum. Extremely sensitive users, or users using very high doses (800-1200mgs) might find that stronger anti-estrogens such as Letrozole or Exemestane are more suitable. Androgenic side effects such as oily skin are also possible while taking Testosterone.

A Potentially deadly toxin is being absorbed into bottled mineral water from their plastic containers. And the longer the water is stored, the levels of poison increase, research reveals. As the sell-by date on many bottled waters is up to two years, scientists have now called for extensive further studies.
The research by world expert Dr William Shotyk – who has vowed never to drink bottled water again – will be published in the Royal Society of Chemistry’s journal next month. It is sure to revive concerns about the safety of bottled water, the world’s fastest-growing drinks industry, worth £1.2billion a year.

The tests found traces of antimony, a chemical used in the making of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles, used by most mineral-water sellers.

Small doses of antimony can make you feel ill and depressed. Larger quantities can cause violent vomiting and even death. The study stressed that amounts of antimony were well below official recommended levels. But it also discovered that the levels almost doubled when the bottles were stored for three months.

Professor Shotyk, of Heidelberg University in Germany, said: “I don’t want to shock people but here’s what I know: Antimony is being continuously released into bottled drinking water. The water in PET bottles is contaminated.”

He tested ground water and 15 types of bottled mineral water in his native Canada. The ground water contained two parts per trillion (ppt) of antimony. Bottled water had an average 160 ppt of antimony when opened immediately after bottling. But ground water stored in a PET plastic bottle had 630 ppt of antimony when opened six months later.

Professor Shotyk then tried the experiment in Europe, collecting 48 brands of water in PET bottles and water from its source in the ground at a German bottling plant. The water had four ppt of antimony before being bottled, the contents of a new bottle had 360 ppt and one opened three months later had a staggering 700 ppt.

Antimony finds its way into water by ‘leaching’ from the plastic in the same way that water absorbs flavour from a teabag. Health authorities said even the higher levels of antimony found are way below official safety guidelines, set at around six parts per billion by international environment agencies.

Elizabeth Griswold, director of the Canadian Bottled Water Association, added: “The levels do not pose a risk to humans. They are simply trace elements.”

But David Coggan, a Southampton University-based epidemiologist who works with the Medical Research Council, called for further research into the findings.

He said not enough was known about the effects of antimony and how much had to be consumed before it became dangerous. Last year naphthalene, which can cause liver damage in high doses, was found in two bottles of Volvic mineral water. Bacteria which could leach into bottled water has been cited as a possible reason for rising levels of food poisoning.

In the Western world there is often a huge disparity between what our bodies need and what they actually get. Your body is an organism more complex than the most powerful computer and needs regular nutrition in order to function properly and regenerate.

This nourishment is derived from a balanced and varied diet, high in the vitamins, minerals and other substances that are vital for maintaining the health of any individual. Unfortunately, our lifestyles are often not conducive to good health, and all too regularly our diet lacks the nutrition we require.

Eat your way to good health
We are only now beginning to realise just how profound an effect diet has on our lives. Of course, most people recognise that consuming large amounts of unhealthy food can lead to weight gain, but what they fail to understand is that almost all key health factors are affected by diet, including:

Digestion.

Energy levels.

Heart rate and circulation.

Hormones.

Thyroid/metabolism.

Stress levels.

Immunity.

Imbalances and deficiencies of essential nutrients affect the way you look and feel. Help maintain good health by ensuring your diet contains all the nutrients your body needs.

Vitamins, minerals and the rest?
Water
The importance of water cannot be underestimated. It is genuinely recommended that you drink two litres of water a day, an amount that should be increased when exercising.

Carbohydrates
Although they often get a bad press, we could not function without carbohydrates. The digestive tract is responsible for breaking down all carbohydrates into glucose, the body?s main source of fuel.

Fibre
Fibre is essential for moving food through the digestive system and also has an important role to play in many other bodily functions.

Protein
Protein is vital for the growth, maintenance and repair of all body components. A lack of sufficient protein in our diets can lead to problems with tissues, nerves, bones, muscles, internal organs, blood, skin, hair and nails.

Fats
Good fats, composing of fatty acids such as omega-3 and omega-6, are essential. These fats perform many biological roles, including assisting brain function.

Vitamin A
Plays an important role in eye and skin health, enhances immunity, assists in bone and teeth formation and acts as an antioxidant protecting against disease.

The B vitamins
Essential for the nervous system, help digestion, muscle, skin, eyes, hair, liver and brain function, reduce stress and are required to release energy from carbohydrates.

Vitamin C
Acts as an antioxidant and is necessary for tissue growth and repair, healthy gums and bones. Also helps in the absorption of iron and is useful when the body is under stress.

Vitamin D
Protects against muscle weakness, osteoarthritis and osteoporosis, as it is required for the absorption and utilisation of calcium.

Vitamin E This powerful antioxidant protects against heart disease, cancer and ageing, as well as improving circulation and helping to repair damaged tissue.

Vitamin K
Required for the normal clotting of blood and promotes healthy liver function.

Folate
Healthy cell division and replication depends upon adequate intake of folate, which is also important in pregnancy and for foetal development.

Calcium
Essential for bone and teeth health, helps prevent osteoporosis and is important for blood clotting and nerve function.

Iron
Iron is required for energy production and a healthy immune system, and it also carries oxygen from the lungs to all the cells in the body.

Zinc
Required for fertility, a healthy reproductive system and healthy skin. Zinc also protects the liver and the body against free radicals.

Selenium
Performs several vital functions, including protecting the body against heart disease, cancer, ageing and damage to the heart and liver.

Magnesium
A vital catalyst in releasing energy, magnesium is also good for cardio health and works with calcium to maintain healthy bones.

Potassium
Your body needs potassium to maintain a healthy nervous system and regular heart rhythm. It also helps promote healthy blood pressure and helps control the body?s water balance.

Phosphorus
Helps convert food into energy, is needed for blood clotting and forms an essential part of all body cells.

Sodium
Essential for water balance and healthy nerve and muscle function.

Many of us have heard horror stories about the ‘diet pills’ that were popular a generation or so ago. These pills, available with a prescription, were basically ‘speed’ – which, in a slightly different form, was sold as a street drug. And yes, these pills did make women lose weight – sometimes a great deal of weight. This weight loss came at a heavy cost, though. A lot of people became addicted to diet pills. Others simply took them for so long, or at such heavy doses, that they ruined their health.

Nowadays, those types of diet pills still exist, but they are not prescribed or used nearly as often as they used to be. In general, people today are more aware of the importance of good health and doing things the natural way. All the same, losing weight is still a going concern, and there are many people looking for an easy way to do it – a ‘shortcut’, so to speak. That’s where natural medicine comes in.

Natural, naturopathic or herbal medicine has been around for literally hundred of years – long before western medicine or modern pharmaceuticals. It has also undergone a bit of a revival of late. People are disenchanted with the mainstream medical system, and looking for answers through an older system of medicine, one that is based on natural substances such as herbs and vitamins.

In fact, you can see how true that statement is just by browsing the shelves of your local drug store. Chances are, there will be almost as many herbal medicines available on your drugstore shelves as there are conventional medicines. Even some doctors are coming to accept the role that herbal medicine and natural medicine has to play. Even if they don’t out and out endorse it, many doctors will concede that natural medicine does no harm, at any rate.

So, when looking for a quick fix to the weight problems that plague so many of us, natural or herbal diet pills might seem very appealing. Actually, they really do have their strong points. Herbal diet pills are not speed – they don’t even resemble the harsh pharmaceutical diet pills of a generation ago, and they work in totally different ways. For example, some natural diet pills work as a ‘Glucophage’ – they ‘eat up’ the excess glucose that is circulating in your system after you eat. Glucose, according to some, is precisely what does make you gain weight. It can even lead to other problems, such as diabetes later in life. Glucophage can be a great way of eliminating excess glucose in your system if you happen to eat too much.

Of course, as might be expected, that doesn’t work well for everyone – in fact, it sometimes backfires. You might use it as an excuse to eat even more, in fact, in which case no amount of Glucophage can save you! It may also be true that this type of herbal remedy has inconsistent results – it may work much better on some people than on others. That having been said, though, there are people who have used Glucophage and had excellent results.

Other types of herbal diet pills act as appetite suppressants. They just make you want to eat less, plain and simple, much as the diet pills of a generation ago did. There the similarity ends, however – herbal diet pills are less effective than pharmaceutical ones, but they are also much less harmful.

Then there are the herbal supplements that you would take in order to cleanse your body of toxins. Some people choose to do this once or twice a year – the early spring, particularly, seems a good time. The herbal supplements that you take during a cleanse are not diet pills per se, but the end result of the cleanse is often weight loss. Furthermore, you might find it a lot easier to lose weight after you’ve done a cleanse. For one thing, you will have gotten out of any bad food habits you might have accumulated!

Get Rid of Your Acne Now – It’s Easy!

When you meet a person –the first thing he or she pays attention to is your face. That is why it is so important to have a clean skin without any spots or zits.

One of the most common facial problems is acne. Those who have ever experienced such problems know how distressing acne is. Acne usually occurs when skin pores are blocked with excessive skin oil produced by our body and other impurities. Unfortunately, acne doesn’t always go away once your puberty period is over, meaning – the acne-disaster sometimes concerns adults as well.

Now, it’s time to admit the truth – it’s hard to control acne on your own. That’s why many doctors and other professionals all over the world work so hard to elaborate and produce solutions to help you combat this monstrous skin spoiler. One of such solutions is Differin (Adapalene).

Blackheads, zits, blemishes, bumps, pimples or whatever you are fighting with can be cured with Differin for good! This solution has a retinoid-like compound, which is very effective in eradicating acne. Besides, Differin has been approved by U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as a topical medication for acne treatement.

Always remember to keep up with your face cleansing routine! Perform these steps twice a day and your face will be oh so grateful!

Clean – This is the very basis of facial skin care. Even if you don’t wear makeup or feel that your face is clean, it is important to regularly wash off impurities and skin oil that causes breakouts.

Tone – Using an astringent as part of your daily facial skin care regimen will help you to tone and tighten your skin. It may also aid in reducing the appearance of pores

Moisturize – Moisturizing is one of the most important facial skin care practice! Moisturizing with the right ingredients will help your skin combat aging, look and feel nourished, retain firmness. When choosing a moisturizer, be sure to make the best pick you can afford!

miscellaneous allergens

Allergic people are damned with oversensitive mucous membranes that are easily irritated by different but quite omnipresent substances such as tobacco smoke, cooking smells, pollution, perfume and other strong odours.

Important! Children of smoking parents run greater risks of developing allergies.

Who develops Allergy?

The predisposition to hypersensitivity can be both hereditary and acquired. If 1 or more close family members suffer from allergy, it is highly recommended to consult a doctor in order to prevent possible developing of like symptoms in children.

Diagnose Allergy

Allergy is usually diagnosed by telling a doctor where, when and how you developed the suspicious symptoms. Then you’ll probably have to undergo an examination involving skin tests and blood tests. Breathing tests may also be indispensable if asthma is suspected.

Treatment of Allergy

Unfortunately, Allergy is too vast of a subject to all-embrace it in one rather short and concise article. Browse the database for specific allergy types and their treatment methods. You will find information about rhinitis, eczema, asthma, atopic dermatitis, food allergies, pet allergies etc.

As for milder allergy symptoms – they are usually easily managed by over-the-counter antihistamine drugs, which are histamine blockers – e.g., cetrizine-based Z i r t e k and loratadine-based C l a r i t y n – 2 most popular and extremely effective medicines in reducing the allergic reaction.

Nasal Sprays:

antihistamines such as levocabastine in spray form – e.g., L i v o s t i n  nasal spray;
sodium cromoglicate – e.g., R y n a c r o m  nasal spray;
decongestants and corticosteroids such as beclometasone – e.g., B e c o n a s e nasal spray.
These sprays are used separately or in combination with other products.

Eye Drops:

antihistamines such as levocabastine in form of eye drops – e.g., L i v o s t i n direct eye drops;
sodium cromoglicate – e.g., O p t i с r o m  eye drops;
nedocromil sodium – e.g., R a p i t i l  eye drops;
These eye drops are used separately or in combination with other products. As for corticosteroids… they should be administered into the eyes only in severe cases of allergy.

Injections:

This method implies undergoing some sort of allergy-inducing “vaccination” that is supposed to build tolerance against known allergens. This process is called hyposensitisation and usually requires time and strict adherence. However, it proved to be effective in preventing the immune system from releasing too much histamine.

Rarely, in cases of severe allergic reactions, long-playing steroid shots are prescribed. Their symptom-relieving action lasts for weeks or months. However, the risk of developing severe side-effects renders this option quite unadvisable. Consider it only as a last resort.

Almost every person nowadays occasionally feels “the blues” or the “taedium vitae”. In fact, this condition can last from moments of simply feeling down and low-spirited to weeks of worry and complete exhaustion.

By now, people have been trying to fight depression for years, even for decades. However, the most recent tendency to fight depression are all-natural solutions like herbal remedies.

Unlike chemical drugs, herbal remedies have no side effects if taken properly. Still they stimulate the release of Serotonin (the so-called “anti-depressant” hormone) – the result that all traditional anti-depressant medicines try to achieve. More and more patients all over the world give preference to these natural drugs other than to any other traditional medicines. What is more, herbal anti-depressant remedies produce progressive and long-term benefits.

Ashwagandha is one of the wonder drugs described in Ayurveda. It helps your body to keep excellent physical condition and at the same time fight various types of stress.

Ashwagandha, also known as “Winter Cherry”, is a popular immune booster herb and is a component of many other efficient formulas.

It is especially remedial in stress related disorders such as arthritis, hypertension, diabetes, general debility, etc. Ashwagandha is a unique herb with anti-stress adaptogenic action that leads to better physical form and helps your body to resist your daily stress.

The latest researches show that this wondrous herb can also help you cure poor eyesight, eliminate the feeling of sleepiness, increase libido and improve your overall health.

Ashwagandha can be used by both men and women and it acts to calm your mind and facilitate sound and restful sleep. Besides, this medicine is absolutely safe for your health. Unlike popular anti-depression medicines, Ashwagandha doesn’t influence your sleeping and eating habits, has no effect on your libido, heart beat and blood pressure, etc.

The herb Ashwagandha does not contain any addictive components because it is produced from the best available pure sources. It can be taken for long periods of time without any fear of addiction.

As it was said before, Ashwagandha has many medical properties and now it is used worldwide for various purposes such as:

Inhibit the aging process

Supply your body with iron, useful in poor blood condition

Great anti-arthritis remedy

Fatigue treatment

Memory booster

Great supplement for people who go in for sports and fitness.
In trials by American psychiatrists, this herb had been found most useful for the treatment of manic depression, alcoholic paranoia, and schizophrenia. The most of the anxiety disorders, panic attacks and similar mental problems had disappeared or improved greatly if Ashwagandha pills were taken regularly on a daily basis.

Optimally, you should take Ashwagandha for 3 and 6 months in order to experience the full range of benefits. However, the period may vary from person to person.

The Science of Good Health’ has always been an issue of high interest from the early days of human existence. Remain healthy, develop a strong body and extend its life span – isn’t that everybody’s dream? The dilemma of “how to reach that ideal?” has puzzled millions of minds throughout history and still does today. New body-rejuvenating and body-reinforcing approaches/techniques keep popping up every day!

However, attaining and maintaining a perfectly shaped, healthy and long-living body is no easy task. Of course, the mix of genetics + good nutrition habits + regular physical work-out may represent the “it-must-be-it” miracle-recipe BUT! … that alone does not necessarily guarantee a successful outcome. Sometimes, no matter how hard we exercise, how dietically correct we eat and how good our genetic heritage is – that great body-shape we daydream of remains as unattainable as the horizon itself. Getting rid of extra pounds or gaining muscle mass will always amount to 2 words: “Hard Work!” There is just no way you can escape it… But! complementing it with a few reliable and time-tested helpers such as good night’s sleep and bodybuilding supplements will definitely soften the process.

What does bodybuilding supplements represent? – Essential nutrients to be taken internally (mostly) – just about everything you might need to enhance your athletic potential, ability and performance. Those can be vitamins, minerals, synthetic (man-made) drugs and hormones sold over-the-counter under the form of ingesting pills, capsules, powders or liquids.

Now, only to think that not so long ago it was taboo-like to even consider using nutritional bodybuilding supplements!! Why?? Because of the lack of information trainers as well as athletes disposed of at the time. The last couple of decades, however, brought bodybuilding supplements significant and totally due recognition. Advanced scientific and financial investment into the field of nutrition and dietary supplements lead to creation and further manufacturing of better and better products. Besides, a giant leap was made in the public awareness area. People are no longer undereducated and informationless. They are fully and widely acknowledged of all the benefits the newborn ‘nutritional supplementing’ tendency grants.

Diet-enhancing Supplements
Whenever you are on a strict diet – taking bodybuilding supplements will help you avoid unwanted muscle wasting. Pro-Anabolics, for instance, will happily accomplish this task.
Modern athletes, police officers, football players from all around the world are consuming protein shakes, omega 3 fatty acids and swallowing vitamin-, amino acid- tablets to enhance their body physical appearance and stamina + promote quick recovery and proper management of body’s energy resources.

Where else, in what circumstances and to what extent could bodybuilding supplements “fit it” and improve your game?
Let’s say you have to lose some weight for an important near-future match… Instead of condemning yourself to over-exhaustive night-&-day trainings – you can ask your nutritionist to start you on a couple of months long diet with the implementation of proper-to-your-case supplements. The results will at the least astonish you!

Attention! This is by no means an advocacy of a purely ‘bodybuilding supplements’-ingestion nutrition scheme. For that would be a direct path to disaster. Human body requires all kinds of foods to keep up the good work and get all of the “mechanisms” running smoothly.

Remember! All dietary and body-building nutritional supplements should only be used as an advantageous add-on to the previously and accurately elaborated diet-program. An individual approach is a must.

You feel lousy, your nose is runny-stuffy, your head hurts so-o-o-o bad & you’re dead tired to even attempt at doing anything minimally important… just haunted by that one and only thought –> go crawl into that comfy, warm, lulling bed of yours…
The given symptomatic description is more than eloquent…
Cold?? Flu?? Sore throat?? Indeed. But! Think twice before rushing to the nearest drugstore to grab some antibiotics… they are not a suitable treatment for viral illnesses of any kind. Moreover, taking antibiotics in vain, with no effect whatsoever and when not needed can be harmful.

Now let’s answer some root questions… What are antibiotics? How to choose the right antibiotic? What are indications and contraindications for antibiotics’ use? What is antibiotic resistance and how to overcome it?

An antibiotic is a halfly or fully microorganism-derivative compound used to fight against fungal and bacterial infections… unable, however, to handle viruses.
Antibiotics whether have a killing-destructive action – microorganisms are eliminated or a blocking action – no further reproduction of microorganisms is possible. Therefore, the body mobilizes its natural defensive forces to exterminate the “culprit”.
The majority of infections are either bacteria-rooted (certain ear infections, streptococcus throat, urinary tract infections, severe sinus infections, skin and wounds infections) or virus-rooted (most ear infections, flu, cold, bronchitis, sore throats, stomach flu) rooting.

If a virus launched your illness – antibiotics can’t help.

Making the Right Antibiotic Pick

The efficacy of each antibiotic depends on the type of bacteria it targets. In order to properly select the “fitting your case”-antibiotic a doctor must first correctly and unmistakably identify the culpable bacteria.
Some infections are easy to decipher, i.e., doctors know beforehand that the bunch of bacterium X is responsible for occurrence of infections Y. In such cases the appropriate antibiotic treatment scheme is elaborated and implemented right away.
But there are more puzzling infections that complicate the choosing routine – they may be caused either by various, non-family bacterium or by an obvious bacterium whose sensitivity to antibiotics is yet to be checked. A guaranteed prediction is hardly possible and guessing is no good… What to do? The answer is – Lab Tests – gather some blood, tissue or urine samples and wait for the laboratory personnel to determine and specify the unknown bacterium or test the already known one for antibiotics susceptibility. A couple of waiting days and the perfectly illness-matching treatment can be started.

It is worth mentioning, however, that antibiotics tested in a lab environment do not necessarily duplicate their behaviour in an infected person. Some important treatment process characteristics affect the ultimate degree of antibiotic effectiveness. “Is the drug wholly or partially absorbed into the bloodstream?”, “What amounts of the drug actually got to the infected area?”, “How long does it take your body to eliminate the drug?”… Answers to these questions represent significant correction data your doctor should take into consideration when prescribing an antibiotic… Along with the potential side-effect dangers, possible allergies to ingredients, the price of the drug and the seriousness/unseriousness of treated infection.

Some severe or unmanageable infections require a combination of two or more antibiotics in order to achieve the status “Cured”. Such doubling or tripling of antibiotic types in one treatment scheme is also a lossless option when a bacterium’s susceptibility to antibiotics is not yet established or when a bacterium is too quick in developing resistance to 1 single antibiotic or when 2 different bacteria responding to 2 different antibiotics are responsible for the occurrence of 1 mutual infection.

Resisting the Antibiotics

Since “Bacterium” is alive it has the properties of a live organism, such as the “changing and adjusting” ability, manifested each time a new environmental challenge is confronted. Antibiotics are used so widely and sometimes so unwisely in the modern society that there is room and potential for such adaptative alterations. Of course, many bacteria die when antibiotic-stormed but some manage to survive and develop a resistance to the assaulting drug. For instance, the famous Staphylococcus Aureus bacterium was initially extremely sensitive to penicillin action. This was about 50 years ago. In the course of the last half-century Staphylococcus Aureus strains evolved and progressively developed an enzyme capable of neutralizing penicillin action. Therefore, it became no longer effective in treating this specific bacterium. Then followed the elaboration of enzyme-proof penicillin modifications… But it took the staphylococcus bacteria only a couple of years each time to re-adapt and find a new loophole to split penicillin again.
Unfortunately, there are way too many antibiotic-resistant bacteria nowadays. A seemingly never-ending battle between medical progress in the field of antibiotic betterment and most tenacious or most flexible bacteria continues.
If you wish to preserve yourself from turning into a fruitful soil for antibiotic-resistant bacteria – make sure to take these medications only when 100% necessary and for the full prescribed course.

Taking Antibiotics
Now, how to “insert” these infection-fighters into your body? It depends on how severe is the bacterial infection… If a lot – an injection method is preferable, if not – an oral path would do just wonderfully.

For how long should you take antibiotics? …For as long as it takes to kill and oust the infecting organism. Therefore, you might need to continue popping your pills even if illness symptoms are no longer apparent.

The shortest antibiotic treatment period counts down to 5 days minimum (except for certain non-complicated urinary tract infections).

An untimely, “too soon” cessation of antibiotic treatment can lead to infection relapse or development & breeding of antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

When should you take antibiotics? Ask your doctor, nurse or the nearest pharmacist to provide you with all the necessary details and directions concerning the intake of your specific antibiotic. You might need to take them with food or on an empty stomach, once, twice or 3 times a day etc.

Avoid interacting antibiotics with other drugs unless your doctor tells you otherwise. Also, don’t mix antibiotics with alcohol. Such imprudent combinations may somewhat dampen the effectiveness of antibiotics or, worse, amplify the intensity of side-effects.

Preventive Antibiotics

As it turned out, apart from being worthy “infection-fighters”, antibiotics can also be “infection-preventers”.
For instance, people exposed to a meningitis patient, whether officially contaminated or not, can be given antibiotics to nip the potential danger in the very bud.
Also, people with artificial or abnormal heart valves are prescribed antibiotics prior to any dental or surgical manipulations to prevent bacteria penetration into the impaired valves with their further infecting.
Leukemia patients, chemotherapeutic patients and AIDS infected patients can be as well given prophylactic antibiotics to support their strongly weakened immune system.
Prophylactic antibiotic therapy is only used as a short-term anti-bacteria measure. Otherwise, the rate of effectiveness can drop down or resistance in bacteria – develop.

Antibiotic Therapy At Home
Usually, there are no complications or troubles whatsoever when undergoing antibiotic therapy in home surroundings. The pills are taken by mouth and this is no sophisticated doing. However, some severe infections, such as bone- and heart- involving infections (osteomyelitis, endocarditis) for instance, require prolonged (up to 4-6 weeks) intravenous injection of antibiotics. If the are no other weighty arguments for tying the treated patient to a hospital bed – intravenous antibiotic administration may be performed at home.

Short intravenous (IV) catheters lasting about 3 days and inserted into small arm/hand veins or a special long-lasting type of IV catheter inserted into the large central vein, or other injecting devices may be needed. The whole pre-injection, injection and post-injection process should be supervised by a trained family member or a professional – a medical nurse. Watch out for possible complications (e.g., catheter-related infections) and side-effects.

Antibiotic Side-Effects and Allergies

Among commonest “mild-action antibiotics” side-effects are: upset stomach, diarrhea, colitis, inflammation of the large intestine, allergic reactions (from mild to severe) and vaginal yeast infections in women. Stronger-acting antibiotics may also cause a disrupt of kidney, liver, bone marrow or other organs’ function.
Monitoring for such adverse reactions is performed through regular blood testing.

Allergy, otherwisely called Hypersensitivity, is an abnormally exaggerated body response to contact allergens – naturally-occurring protein substances that are generally not harmful.

In non-allergic people the immune system only launches self-protection mechanisms whenever there is bacteria and/or virus intrusion. As for allergens, which are mostly harmless substances –their visits are ignored.

However, if an allergic person is exposed to an allergen – his/her supersensitive immune system overreacts and takes immediate defensive actions against the pseudo-dangerous substance.

Now, let’s find out How? and When? exactly does this immune system false alarm go off…?

When an allergen attacks for the first time, B-lymphocytes or white blood cells produce an antibody against the intruder. This antibody binds to the surface of the allergy cell, or mast cell, thus equipping and preparing it to fight off the next attack. The described process is called sensitization.

Once the sensitization phase is over, there is an allergic response each and every time the body is openly exposed to an allergen whatsoever. Upon its second visit the allergen automatically sticks to the already at-call & ready-to-protect antibody on the surface of the mast cell. This pairing provokes the granula in the mast cell to release histamine – a biogenic amine responsible for the actual emergence of physical allergic symptoms. Depending on the quantity of allergen substance, the longevity of exposure to it and the body location it targets – there will be an allergic reaction in the form of asthma, hay fever or nettle rash.

How exactly does histamine produce its malicious effect…?

Let’s illustrate its mechanism of action on the example of an asthma attack… The chain reaction histamine launches looks something like this:

As blood vessels get dilated > mucous membranes in the nose swell due to the liquid leaking > glands situated in the nose and the respiratory airways start to overproduce mucus, or phlegm.

Substances responsible for evoking musculature contractions in the respiratory airways are released at the same time as histamine. As a result, it gets harder to breathe and an asthmatic attack may follow.

What is an allergen??

An allergen is a tiny protein substance that your body’s immune system erroneously interprets as a health-threatening aggressor. The occurring allergic response is in effect a triggered defense mechanism.

dust & house dust mites

mould and mould fungus

animal parasites (e.g., on cat & dog fur)

venoms (e.g., honey bee, wasp)

chemicals.

foods (e.g., strawberries, nuts, milk etc.)
